Breast Cancer Misdiagnosis

If a breast cancer diagnosis is made at Stage 0 or Stage I, the five-year relative survival rate is close to 100 percent. But if a misdiagnosis of no cancer is given — the chances for a better outcome begin to decline. Even at Stage IIIB, however, individuals diagnosed with breast cancer have about a 50 percent chance of surviving the disease for at least five years. Patients not diagnosed until Stage IV will typically have less than a 20 percent five-year relative survival rate.

In real terms, incidents of breast cancer misdiagnosis mean the loss of a chance for a better outcome and in some cases, the loss of a decent chance to live. And in the 25 states and other U.S. jurisdictions that recognize this "lost chance" as a real injury, we can help you seek justice.

If you or your family has been harmed as the result of a breast cancer misdiagnosis, the experienced attorneys at the New York State law firm of Powers & Santola, LLP, may be able to help. To learn more, contact us today.

Excellence in the Fight for Justice

Our firm accepts only a limited number of serious injury cases at any one time. We do this so that we can commit our practice to providing better client service, to increasing the value of the cases we do accept, and to fundamentally changing our clients' lives for the better.

If you have a valid failure to diagnose cancer claim and we accept your case, a team of two lawyers, a paralegal and a legal secretary will be assigned to work with you until the case is resolved. This ensures more thorough case preparation and better communication throughout the process as well.

In terms of the lawsuit itself, our goal is maximum compensation and a final result that has been carefully crafted to address all of your needs. Nothing less will do. We prepare every case for trial and we will not hesitate to take your claim to court if the alternatives fall short of our standards for an excellent outcome.
